Welcome to Factor It In

My name is Stewart Chesters. I’ve run a company. Sold it. Worked in government in the UK. Left it. Now I run the American arm of a 200 year old business. All before I turned 40.

Now I help US companies get back on their feet and stay healthy or grab opportunities and grow by supplying them with the working capital they need to grow. We help all sorts of businesses – mostly small to medium sized – in all sorts of industries.

Even though I am a Brit gone native – and maybe because of it – I view with a bit of a squint in my eye the economic up and downs of this country and how they affect the average person running a business.

My job makes me impartial, yet passionate about the economic health of this country and the strong role small and medium sized companies play in its growth.

I am writing this blog to give you an insider’s and outsider’s view on trends in the economy, the government and commerce here and abroad. With an eye on growth – what feeds it, what hampers it, what creates it – I begin to share my views and look forward to yours….

Thanks for stopping in.
